Greetings,
No, this is not Chris, who has stepped down from his president’s role after 20 years. (Thanks Chris!) He will be a hard act to follow. Our mission is to continue to provide our members with the low-key wilderness experience that we all enjoy when we ski at Massie Hills. Old-school classic skiing is what we are about.
Registration for the 2021-2022 ski season is now open on Zone4. https://massiehills.com/join-the-owen-sound-cross-country-ski-club/
After many years with no changes in fees, there is a small increase in membership fees this year. The snowmobile we use for grooming the trail is almost 20 years old and less reliable. In order to ensure that we can continue to provide you with well-groomed trails, we will need to replace this machine. We have been saving for this eventuality over the years; the fee increase along with continued growth in our membership will help us reach this goal.
Another way the club can add to its snowmobile fund is to cut down on postage costs. This year, there is an option when you register on zone4 to choose to pick up your stickers for your membership tags at Runners Den in downtown Owen Sound. Scott and Tracy have kindly volunteered to provide this service for us. Check out their cold weather clothing while you’re there.
As many of our members live over the escarpment in Meaford and Thornbury and in other communities outside of Owen Sound, you can also request to continue to receive your stickers by mail.
Paper copies of the registration form can also be found on our website.
Stay safe, do a snow dance. See you on the trails.
Kelly Rogers
President
