Ski an 11-kilometre groomed trail network running through the forested, rolling hills of Grey County between Owen Sound and Meaford. Enjoy the solitude and beauty of a back-country ski with the added bonus of track-set grooming for classic cross country skiing (with two sets of tracks in many areas).

You’ll find a mix of trails from easy to intermediate, and while Massie Hills has its share of hills, including some steep sections, there’s nothing too extreme or too long.

The Owen Sound Cross Country Ski Club maintains the trails on Grey Sauble Conservation property, and our dedicated groomers head out early in the morning at least twice a week – with an additional second weekend groom when Mother Nature has been extra generous.

The varied terrain and mix of cedar, pine and hardwood bush makes the area excellent for snowshoeing treks – enjoyed best when you venture into the virgin snow well off to the side of the tracks. (Please be very mindful of the tracks.)

You’ll find donation boxes for day passes at either trail entrance, but we’d love to have you join us as members – ski all winter and support the maintenance of the trails by our hard-working volunteers.

Day users can pay will be able to pay by cash at either end of the trail or by e-transfer at massie.skiclub@gmail.com. For insurance purposes, please pre-register on our Day Use page, or fill out the envelope at the trail entrances. Thank you.

Please help preserve the hard work of our groomers. No snowshoeing, animals, or walking on the track-set ski trails.

Believe it or not, Gary is out on the groomer pressing a new track into the still solid base. One more spring ski! You don't need to worry about icy conditions today, but perhaps some melt water as the day goes on. Enjoy before the next bout of rain!

Gary was on the trail this morning just as it warmed up, setting another track. Spring conditions prevail! The track is shallow and wishy washy in places, but the snow has softened up and there is still lots of base. We may even make it through the warm-up. But you

Carl has roughed up the ice a bit and reset the track but it is still pretty icy. Ski with care…

Trails are groomed but fast. Use caution but enjoy the beautiful winter day.

Carl has been out roughing up the trails this morning. They are very icy. Stay off the big hills. We need fresh snow!

Trails are in good shape this sunny morning. May get soft as the day goes on. Enjoy it while it's here…

Gary has been out setting tracks in the new snow that fell yesterday and last night. It's a beautiful winter day. Enjoy!

Dropping temperatures and a bit more snow means Gary has been able to get out and put in a decent track. Skiing should be pretty good today! Enjoy.

A couple of inches of snow fell at Massie and Paul was able to set a shallow track. Conditions will be variable, but it will be beautiful out there despite the grey day. Enjoy.

I don't think it's a surprise to anyone that skiing is not recommended. It is very icy. Gary has been out picking up debris on the trail to make sure it will be ready to groom when the next snowfall comes. Don't put away your skis yet!
